Ah, good news. I'm anxious to hear your comments PA800 vs. the Pa2xPro.

You wouldn't, by any chance, have an E-60 out your way, would you?

Sorry no E-60,

Well so far

They keybed is great, very nicely done and probably one of the best feels in a long time.

I think better than the G70, it has a little bit of a weighted feel to it.

The sounds and styles are pretty much the same, but they seem to have a better mix and depth to it.

I played some midi files and I can't put my finger on them, but they sound a little bit more open, I don't know if it just me and i'm just in aw .

The look is great, it looks completely professional, very narrow depth, also the keys are longer than the PA800, like a true acoustic piano.

I have not had it lock up like some forums had said, but i'm not sure what has to be done to get it to happen.

I'll try to give more later

any specific questions?

Frank

Frank,
I am a newbie here, and I have been chasing up a new keyboard lately. Going from my old Technics Kn5000 and Kn6000 of course with inbuilts.
What i am looking at is either the PA2x or the G70,, but my question what speakers to run for gigs etc - loud enough but portable for small to medium venues.
what do you recommend for the Korg please?
Thanks for any input......

I carry allot of different types and models,

I would need to know what type of budget, then how you plan to monitor yourself, and what type of music sytle and situations.

Give me a call

Sorry, but being new to the forum I forgot to let on I am from Downunder, and in the southern state of Tasmania. The best price I can get so far on a new PA2x is $5150AUD landed at my door, but the G70 a little higher. The PA1xPro Elite for $4999AUD, but still looking which way to go.

I would like to get some middle of the range powered speakers that are not too heavy to carry and quick to set up. Not being professional as yet, but getting back into playing after a very long break.
Not sure if a portable PA would be better for my situation, running a CD player for intermission etc.

So, as i am not very experienced any help is very appreciated, thanks again.
P.S. always learning...........

A great middle of the road small but great sounding PA is the Yamaha StagePas 300. Two small light weight speakers and a tiny 300 watt stereo powered mixer which snaps into the back of one of the speakers and can be left in the back and used or can be taken out very easily and placed on top of a standard mic stand. The size of the powered mixer is about 8"x 5"x 4".

As to the differences between the Korg PA800 and PA2XPRO:

the PA2XPRO has one more digital draw bar for the Organs ( There are mechanical faders to move up and down on the 2XPRO and only 2 of these on the 800)

the PA2XPRO comes with 128 MB of sample memory compared to 64MB for the 800 and the 2XPRO can be upgraded to 256MB.

The PA2XPRO comes with the MP3 Recorder/Player and and internal hard drive standard and these are options on the 800

Load time for putting in your own samples on power on setup is faster on the PA2XPRO than on the PA800 by about 1/2 the time.

Of Course, there are 76 semi weighted keys on the 2XPRO vs 61 standard synth keys on the 800.

The plus for many on the 800 is size. It weighs only 29lbs and has built in speakers. The PA2XPRO weighs closer to 50 lbs and has no speakers.

There are two more outputs on the 2XPRO that are not available on the 800

The display moves up and down to get the desired angle on the 2XPRO and not on the 800

That's pretty much the major differences.
