Wow! Hard to believe it, but I've owned my Tyros2 for nearly 2 years now, so thought it an opportunity to retrospectively listen to some of the songs I've recorded with it over this 2 year period.

All songs were performed (played & sung) LIVE in auto accompaniment mode, & simply recorded directly to the T2 HD (utilizing the keyboard's built in audio recorder), with no overdubbing, multi-tracking, or post processing, and simply utilized Tyros2's internal microphone input and built in vocal harmonizer. All songs converted to Windows Media Audio (WMA):

You Don't Know Me (Nov 2005)

Nine Million Bicycles In Beijing (Dec 2005)

Corovado (May 2006)

Come Running (June 2006)

Crazy Love (June 2006)

Danny Boy (March 2007)

Thanks for posting your tunes. I do 3 of the six. Two I'd never heard before. Danny Boy seemed to have the clearest overall sound coming through my speaker system.

Hi Scott - it's great to hear the variety of your playing and singing again on SZ. I hadn't heard you do Corcovado before, and really enjoyed the smooth sounds of your guitar and keyboard on that song.

Keep up the great work!

The vocal harmonizer sounded very good, especially in Crazy Love.

QUESTION: Is the vocal harmonizer in the S900 the same as in the T2?

Thanks,
zuki

"Crazy Love" is a favorite song of mine and it was enjoyable to hear your rendition. I haven't found a good midi file of this to use, but your recording has given me hope of creating an arranger/midi version. If I ever do make that recording, I'll share it with you. Good job, Scott.

Hi Scott,

Super stuff, my friend.

You sure get the most out of the vocal harmonizer...sounds awesome.

My favorite tune has to be "You Don't Know Me".

Thanks for sharing and Happy Anniversary.

One cool thing about recording our performances is the ability to go back and hear how we've changed (hopefully for the better, heehee) in our playing style and ability, as I see music as a lifelong path of continuing discovery & development. Thanks to those who replied for the comments along the way.

Donny . . . Wrong!

They are NOT all the same. In addition to minor software programing tweaks made to the Tyros2 VH by Michel Voncken, the Tyros2 vocal harmonizer includes an brand new "VOCAL RANGE" parameter setting not available on Tyros1 or before. There are 3 "Vocal RANGE" settings to choose from:

1) Upper (high)
2) Normal(norm)
3) Lower (low)

The "NORMAL" setting is a 'compromise setting' to accomodate BOTH male & female voices, "UPPER" setting specifically targeted for female voices, and the "LOWER" setting specifically targeted for optimizing VH tracking for lower (baritone/bass) voices like myself.

The Yamaha S900 now incorporate this important feature as well, providing better VH tracking & improved Vocal harmony results.

Scott
