Hey Mike.
This is a catchy tune. What is the style?
I think I recognize the style from one of the Baartman's demos (Robbie Williams' "Let Me Entertain You" I think was done with that style).
In terms of suggestions, I think all of us keyboard players must strive to emulate the string and wind instruments so that they sound more natural. SA does a lot for this already but we must adapt our playing style.
Unfortunately, this is easier said than done and I am working on this myself. For electric (esp. distort) guitar I found using pitch bend to bend up to the target note helps a lot to make sound more realistic. For sax, I found phrasing to be key (remember, player needs to breathe), playing fast notes legato, and limiting use of sax to a shorter solo. This way, there is less time for listener to notice that the sax is coming from a keyboard ;-)
Best of luck from a fellow T2 player!

Mikey, nice first time 'on the fly' recording. Ain't one touch audio recording fun? My ears tell me that you basically used the Yamaha default settings, right? That said, by merely spending a few minutes making minor style & panel voice: volume, EQ, compressor & EFX setting adjustments, and then saving this to reg, you can get a much punchier LIVE "in your face" sound (if you want that) similar to Roland & Ketron keyboards. Tyros2 gives us the OPTION of tweaking our keyboard to either sound more like a polished CD, OR the punchier LIVE 'in your face' sound that Ketron & Roland are known for. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Btw: enjoyed your website. Thanks for sharing. - Scott
