Gang-

Does anyone have a chord/lead sheet for a 60's RB tune called "Soulful Strut?"

Midi file doesn't really help...

I've looked in all the usual places, can't find it...

Bill,

If you have a music writing program such as Finale, Scorewriter or Powertracks you can turn the midi file into printed music. It is not as simple as a leadsheet but in a pinch it works.

You've been kind of quiet lately. How have you been?

Hey Tom-

I didn't know that...

I don't happen to have any of those programs you listed, but perhaps there's a free/shareware offering that might get the job done...

I've been good, really have no complaints on business whatsoever. I'll do around 425 gigs in and around Dayton this year, which keeps me on the run. I know I don't post here nearly as often as I used to, due to two reasons...The biggest is that in many ways, the board has changed. When I first arrived, I was impressed by how friendly everyone seemed. If someone posted something redundant or has some critical feedback, it was accepted and not made a big deal out of. A while ago, things seemed to take a harsher tone than I care for, so...in a nutshell, that's why I'm not as involved as I was before. I don't want to read sarcasm, put down's, scoldings, etc...

Also, my schedule has really impacted the amount of office time I have to be able to be on the net as well.

How about you? How's life treating you?

Take care-

Bill

Good for what you require, but I found it difficult for notating notes. Haven't found any program good for notations. Power tracks also does not do this well.

Thanks guys for the help...

I found one MIDI file for Soulful Strut, which runs abotu $10.00

I may just transcribe it by ear...there's not THAT much to the chord structure going on...

How would you transcibe it? What software would you use to do this?
As noted above, I have not found any inexpensive software to transcribe notes.

I'd do it the old fashioned way...

Sit down at the piano, work out the chords by ear...write 'em down...

Then go back and write out the basic theme...
