For reference:

I'd like some help with some of the items here and I also have questions that are not addressed in the specs.

First up: Wave Memory 512 Mbit

What is a Mbit?Is it less than a MB?
Should we be worried, especially as Roland is
advertising "Incredible Sound"?

Hi casiobot

512 Mbit is 64 MB wave memory. The G-70 has 192MB.

Typical Roland flimflammery, IMHO.

But don't let the published specs put you off giving one a good chance. The figures in the back of the manual do not make a sound (incredible or otherwise), only playing one and comparing it directly with others in it's price range will let you know if it is right for you or not........

Oh yeah,I intend to give this 'board a fair beating, soundwise.

Next question: 64 poly
Does this sound like a limitation?
Will the tones be layered on E-50 thereby cutting the poly?

64 poly is the standard for modern arrangers except the top-of-the-line ones like T2, G70 and E80 etc., so it should be sufficient. I don't recall hearing any dropouts on my old G1000, and that was 64 voice (tops for it's day).

And you layer ANY keyboard and polyphony drops, but, once again, I never noticed it layering my G1000. Shouldn't be a problem.

And you might want to take a look at the specs for the forthcoming Korg PA800 - a bit more expensive, but the sampler looks like a winner and it has TC Helicon voice processing.........

Hi,
This means that you can compose styles in 8 tracks e.g. 8 different instruments and edit them in every note

Perhaps you should download the manual, instead of coming here for an explanation of each and every feature?

They are available.........
