need to run a sound system like a Bose pas, a laptop, an effects unit, and a mixer what size( how many watts) would you need in a gas generator. Just for reference how many watts would you need to run a refridgerator and a 60w light? Anyone know about portable elec gas generators? would the same be true of an inverter for 12 volt?

Thanks Fran, does the inverter run on a 12 volt battery and if so how long can it last? As you can see I know nothing about this subject

Mike I use mine for 2-3 hour sound program[mostly outdoor church things]..I have mine hooked up to my van's 12 volt system..It hardly puts a drain on my battery for this duration..It has meters to let you know how your battery source is doing..You can also run the vehicle if you are concerned about drainage.

Prior to the inverter, on my work trucks[construction] , I rewired my alternators [factory from GM..original equipment]to put out over 5,000 watts to run power tools..
