I plan on adding a back-up arranger to my Tyros in the first quarter of 2005. I would like find a kb that I can transfer my Tyros styles to so I can still perform the songs the way I do on the Tyros.

I COULD go out & buy another Tyros if I need to. This back-up board would be just that. In the case that the Tyros went down, I could carry on.

On the other hand, I often get hired to play weddings...with two different set ups...(One for the ceremony and the other for the reception)...It would be nice to have arrangers in both areas, I suppose...

I also have a Yamaha P-200 Digital Piano that I'm awfully fond of, but would probably need to trade that in to cover some of the new Tyros cost.

I'd appreciate any suggestions...

Thanks-

Bill,
A PSR3000 would be perfect because you could copy and paste all of your styles you use on a floppy and copy them to the PSR3000 either by using the smart media card or just transfering the styles through USB.
You would have all the great Tyros sounds and styles and song playback features but would only have to spend $1400.00 dollars.

Well said by George, I just like to sugest, instead Smart Media, use a Thumb drive.....some of my customers have told me that the smart media cards have a limited life ( they told me that also own digital cameras that use them and they experience a time expand limit). Seems to be more reliable, that is all.

What are the biggest differences between the PSR3000 and PSR900Pro?

Well, the differences are:

The PSR 9000/9000 PRO have the older sound generation, Sampler, direct access Vocalist controls, Monochromatic screen, (I'am not sure, but I think less polophony), low resolution styles ( PRO).....No performance assistance. For storage besides floppy, needs to install Hard disk drive....

The PSR 3000 has color screen, No sampler, High resolution styles ( Compatible with Tyros)....128 poliphony, performance assistance, much less heavy, with a USB Floppy/thumb drive and Smart media do not need Hard Drive and is much faster to access styles, midis etc...
If it was my choice, I would pick the 3000.

Go with the 3000--you'll love it.

I'm faced with this exact issue...i.e. need to have 'COPY' backup to tyros. My backup at present is 9K which because of it's difference to 'T'.must be seperatly maintained with programme data..& it's too heavy...but I don't want to part with it.

I do have old reliable 8K so i guess I'll be forced to see what value they will put on it against 3000...which as you guys seem to agree is the best option as T backup.
