What kind of speakers can I get for my Yamaha DGX-200. The speakers on it seem kinda week and looking into buying some bigger ones. I'd like to know where to get them too. Thanks.

Hey,
Well, if you just got a $299 keyboard I'm sure Sona32c is going to be way out of your price range. I think they go for $699. First I try to hook them up to your home stero system... If that dosen't work. Yamaha got some YSTMS50. Buy.com has them for $51.95.

Pianoman, you have opened up the proverbial box of worms. You should get lots of suggestions: Barbetta, Motion Sound, EV, JBL, Boss, Yamaha, FTB, and on and on. Look back on the last 30 days of post and you will find plenty of talk about all types of speakers. Sounds like you might at least want something self-powered, but it really comes down to a few questions.

What do you want them for? Where will you be using them? How many do you want? How big/small do you want to go? What's your budget? SHALL I GO ON?

We all have our favorites and we'll all tell you the final decision has to be based on your needs, ears and pocketbook.

I second DJ's suggestion for the Yamahas. I have some Roland MA8's; they were about $80. Also, you might want to check out some computer/surround sound speaker kits.

I've been using the Yamaha YST MS50 powered speakers on my Tyros for some time. I just put a new set on eBay if you're interested. They are really nice and the price is right.

Have a great day!
