To anyone interested, I finished up mu latest cd yesterday and have put the last 6 cuts on my site.

Aptly named "Across The Genres" because it does have a taste of each genre I normally work in.

Also though, I think it shows off the versatility of the Tyros and how it can fit into all three of the different styles.

So I added 3 new vocal pieces and 3 new instrumentals (the 3 at the top of each Tyros columns)

"Before Her Time" (has a rough cut in the clip, but I wanted to be able to put the soprano sax and violin up to be heard) this showcases both very nicely I think

"Mind Games" A bit of creative revoicing and the Ty fits a New Age mold very well I think.

"Spilt Milk" Straight up "unplugged" style that shows off the mega guitars well

"Since You've Been Gone" Nice acoustic intro.

Thanks if you go and have a listen, they are all short cuts of the full versions, so even with dial up, you shouldn't get too much older waiting for the D/L.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I think "Since You've Been Gone" may turn out to be the "hit" off the cd. Most seem to like it. I like "Spilt Milk" too....nice acoustic easy feel to it.

Hey Terry,
Hope your holiday went well.
I just listened to a few cuts and yes Split Milk was very good. I happened to favor Since you've been gone now. A very nice mix of progressive yet commercial enough to get airplay. And yes I know your not a commercial type of guy. Nice vocal work also.

Hi Terry,
my favorite one is "Since you've been gone", because you sing and, as you know, I like your voice a lot (it has a pleasant "midwest" accent, I think, very "country-ish" anyway. Re. "Spilt milk", I liked the Tyros style a lot (which one did you use, btw?), but I think that you would get better results if you somehow could build a "sonic progression" in your songs. In other words, (if I were you), I would start the song with just the rhytm and a lead line, then, verse after verse or simply with the time, would add a countermelody or a pad or something else. The way the song is built it's like you throw everything in from the beginning (Tyros, Chapman stick, tablas, bass, etc) and you go on in a steady way from the beginning to the end. So the song lacks a climactic point and is too much "crowded" from the very beginning.
OK, this is just a poor man's opinion: throw it in the wastebasket and do as you like most.
Happy playing!
Andrea

Moss,
Thanks....the answer is, it depends on which tune in particular you are asking about, Some are Tyros only and some have Stick, Guitar or Vibes added for the lead lines. If there is a particular song you want to know about.....
