I just noticed that the green light on the floppy drive blinks occasionally during read/write operations. Is this normal? I remember that on the PSR-630 it stayed on all the time.

Hi MarcK,
I think your floppy drive is "OK", I have a Y2K as well and when it is reading or writing "data" the "LED" flickers on mine as well. After it is finished (reading or writing) it should remain "ON"
Best of luck, How are U deal`n with the keys ?

The keys? Well, I've been playing Yamaha's PSR's from the start of my "career", so I'm quite conditioned to the feel of the keys, poor as it may be. There is no doubt that the keys are on the flimsy side, but I don't do much hard pounding so it doesn't bother me all that much in practice. At $1000, you know corners will be cut somewhere. In my opinion there are less vital "corners" which should have been cut rather than the keys, but I don't work for Yamaha. Product obsolecence is part of business. It's unfortunate, but a fact of life nonetheless.
