Hi, the ketron X4 is one of the most powerful oriental module in the market because it has all the capabilities of the X1.

There is also the GEM WK2oriental Aranger module available from Generalmusic. It has all the features of the WK2 oriental keyboard.

There is a new sound module from EMU... "Planet Earth"... It pretty cool. LOTS of ORIENTAL..(arabic, indian, middleastern, chinese, japanese, latin).... sounds and drums.
You should check it out. It's also very good deal.

Thanks for the help. I have a few questions about the suggested modules.
1)Do the "Ketron X4" and "GEM WK2or Rack"
both have floppy drives like their
keyboard counterparts? And if so, can
new samples be added, and can SMF's be
played back?
2)Where can I find specs and list prices?
3)Do Roland, Korg(aside from i40M), and
Yamaha make any such modules?
Arranger and sequencer features are not
an absolute neccessity (but nice to have,
anyway).

Both the X4 and the WK2oriental arranger module have disk drives and both will play standard midi files direct from the drive. the WK2 will play back 16 track song files, but you can only record accomp. track, upper 1, upper 2 and lower track songs. This is not as good as a true 16 track sequencer like the X4 module, but the WK2 module is between $995 and $1495 depending on if it is equiped with an optional hard drive and vocal harmonizer. The non oriental version comes both ways but I'm not sure if the oriental version can be bought with the internal hard drive and vocal harmonizer.
