So whats an instrument worth when selling online?

I wanna sell a Roland Jupiter 80.
They been selling for €1500 to €1700 For quite some time now.

But about 2 months ago, someone decided to sell his (no patience as it didnt sell witthin 2 days for €1600) for €1200.. and it offcourse sold rather fast. The person that bought it has it now on sale for €1600..

Yet funny enough, people now tell me, since that one keyboard sold for €1200, my price is way to high, they tell the same thing to the only other Jupiter 80 for sale.. 3 people allready litterally told me, i am not going to pay more then €1200.. and i tell them, good luck in finding a seller..

In general lots of patience helps getting a fair market price. People selling to cheep however break the market mechanic. Which is a bad thing, as everyone wants a fair price for what they sell, so they can afford their next dream.

Prices in Europe are different

Here in Holland people dont use ebay that much,
They use “Markplaats” which means market place in Dutch.

US prices are much higher for used gear then in Europe..

Condition is important too. No one wants someone else's scratched-up junk with missing knobs, cigarette burns, and smells like an ash tray!

Actually i had a lot of fun with the jupiter 80..
Its an incredible instrument.. it worked great..

Just wanna go (back) into a different direction..
When it sells, i will go for a kawai MP7 SE stage piano.
And combine it with the Genos.
Altough i am also tempted to sell the Genos and add an SD90 to the stage piano..
But then on the other hand, the genos is still incredible, so lets see how it works out.

One step at a time..

Hi Bachus, unfortunately sometimes people either don’t know what something is worth, or they’re desperate to sell, so they sell cheaper than they should.

Only reason I used EBay when I sold my 3 keyboards last year. Didn’t have a clue what they were worth, so had them up for auction. I was pleasantly surprised with the end result. Had I just tried to sell them normally, I would have been selling them too cheaply.

Admittedly I had a great deal from eBay at the time ( free listing) so the only fee I had to pay was for pay pal transaction.

Maybe people will forget that cheap price, and pay you for what it’s worth.
