It's nice for a digital piano, however it is the standard architecture of most synthesizers in the "voice" or "patch" or "tone" mode. Casio calls it HexLayer with 6 elements, Yamaha Motif/MoXF had 8 elements per voice, Roland 4 per patch/tone.
Like in this example, you can set filters, velocity limits, key range limits etc. for each element of a voice.
I guess that architecture is one of the big differences between synthesizers and arrangers.
