Dnj Senior Member Registered: 09/21/00 Posts: 43703	Someone was telling me today rumor or not..that with all the switching of styles between arranger kbs like Genos to S975 or whatever is hurting TOTL Genos sales & making angry buyers who spent top dollar only to see MOTL users with almost the same thing!! so in future models they are going toward creating styles being ONLY PROPRIETARY to the specific keyboard they were made for eg: GENOS 2 etc, and cannot be converted to other KBs. .. to stop the "cross contamination" and protect sales. I can understand Yamaha position but not sure how the masses will react to this. And will it also trickle down to MOTl units as well. Thoughts? Edited by Dnj (09/02/18 11:17 AM)

Also 'no backwards' compability is not any new thing. Technics did it that way, Ketron does it. Yamaha has patents for a technollogy comparable to ketron’s audio technollogy that follows chord changes.. Bringing this technollogy to Genos 2, could just do that ... But my best bet is that they will make a new style format with more options specifically for Genos.. how about 8 drum channels, with sepperate dsp for each channel... Or even better, styles that react to your playing in a dynamic way...
