This just started on a gig yesterday. I would start a song style and the volume would be full blast, as if I had no pedal connected, even though it is connected, calibrated, and at half volume. I have to start with the master volume knob at a quarter until I pump the pedal and bring it down. It is the FS6, or whatever the big Yamaha pedal is.

Maybe I need a new pedal. Any suggestions?

Does your pedal have a polarity switch?

The older Yamaha pedals used to be based on a "99" degree limit to midi messages, and the newer KBs respond to 128 degrees (typically 0-127) - Maybe your pedal is sending a message of 99 (max) and the KB is confused? Just a guess.

I haven't touched the polarity since I first configured it, and it has been working flawlessly.

UD

Who knows, but why now?

I will try different pedals.
Thanks

My Yamaha pedal worked on the Pa900 and also the PA4x and then all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore, I took it apart and found nothing.

What did you do to solve the problem?

I put it aside in the closet and bought the aluminum KORG pedal, I still think the Yamaha is much better, but I will eventually get to it.

Vangelis,
I agree that the Yamaha FC7 Vol. Pedal is by far the nicest and
most accurate pedal there is out there. I have one on my Korg
Pa4X and one on my Ketron SD 7, both working fine. I have had
one of these FC7 on a Yamaha 2, 4 and 5 that represents about
six or better years and it still works as new. Sorry to hear
you are having troubles with it. Lloyd

I believe my Yammy pedal is fine. The problem is in the keyboard not searching for the pedal position prior to pressing the start button. As soon as it starts everything is okay. Frank is taking this to Korg technical. I tried and calibrated 4 pedals and it is the same.

Bernie,
Hope you can get this problem solved by Korg. The Yamaha Pedal
is an asset to any board. Lloyd
