Does anyone have any real knowledge of how successful the tyros 5 sales have been compared to its predecessor ?

And we have had lots of discussions on the need or preference for 76 keys over 61 . Does anyone have any idea whether the market actually bore that out in sales ?

And finally just speculating , do you think the next iteration of the tyros will come in 76 keys ?

There was an article here on Synthzone comparing sales of the
6l and 76 keys. The 76 sold better than the 6l. Lloyd

If the 76 key Tyros 5 was less bulky it would have sold more.
Some returned them because they would not fit in a small car
or a small trunk. Too bad it spoiled sales and hope Yamaha
makes a more compact unit next time around. Lloyd

I think that a lot of T4 owners didnt make the change to the T5 because the quality of the T4 , it is still a fine instrument and however the T5 is much better ( after Tweaking) , its a lot of money you must spend fore a change to a almost similar ( outside ) machine .
I was also disapointed that the T5 didnt have a touch screen and a good sound editor ( on board) , but after a while i get used to it and for me it is the "ultimate" keyboard ( fore now) .
If the Genos arrive , and the changes are minimal i dont buy it , i will spend my money fore a other instrument (Nord, MX61,Hammond),

According to dealers & Yamaha Insiders, 76 Note is selling better than 61, however sales have not matched previous generations, and nobody will confirm whether it will be replaced or not. (Any information out there is purely speculative at the moment) From what I can gather, the surprise success of the Korg PA4x, (Sales have been way beyond even the most optimistic forecasts, and many Yamaha owners have also gone over to it) is causing Yamaha to re-evaluate. (If a replacement is not announced next year, then it will probably be gone for good)

We will have to wait and see

On the record, No, it will depend how you get on with your dealer or Yamaha person. (Yamaha Japan is very strict on what is officially let out)

No harm in chatting to your local dealer though.
