what do you guys do for powering your IPads, Tablets, Laptops etc. while performing ? I use an IPad, Imix, and ITouch for lyrics and DJing. I keep them all plugged into chargers but the wire mess is getting to be too much and looks terrible. I,m just afraid of going total battery and having a unit die during a gig. The Imix. Has to be plugged in but wondering about the others.

I use a custom made Pelican power box with ac power strips w/circuit breakers,...all adapters are Industrial Velcroed inside and holes cut out of the sides for all the wires in harness to come out to devices, KB's, Laptop, Etc,.....

Donny

Thanks for the info. If you get a chance could you post a picture of the unit and how you manage the cables. As many times as you set up and tear down it must be a good solution.

Thanks

ok Bill when i get a chance I'll take pics of the inside of the box....meanwhile Gary many years ago turned my on to using harnesses for all my wires using this wire wrap..and cutting all cables exactly the right lengths also....all velcroed into the box with "V" slots on the sides so you can close the top.

My ipad air works like 12 hours on a single charge, no reason to hook it up on a battery... you could also hook it up to an externall battery..

The latest laptops work up to 8 hours on a battery charge, no need to plug them in either..

Bill, I also use an IPad for many purposes and never had to plug it in.

I get about 5 hours on my 2nd generation and the new Air IPad get even more.
When I used my older laptop I had to plug in many times; I finally plugged it in all the time.

Bill,
I have used an Ipad to display leadsheets since the very first Ipad came out. I have NEVER plugged it in on a gig. When fully charged I will get up to 4 one hour gigs with it without having to worry about it quitting on me. Even then it usually will have about 40% charge left. I have often left the house with only a 50% charge and have never had a problem. Keep in mind, my gigs are usually one hour in length - sometimes two hours.

Same for me - my iPad can get through the longest gig with no problem (as long as I remember to have it charged of course) ... I use it (sometimes 2 of them) with no power cables involved, at gigs . . .

That IPad, if it's fully charged at beginning of gig should last without any prob.

Thanks guys. I still want to figure a way to mount something up near the keyboard for the AC adapters. Keyboard, sometimes a light, Imix, ITouch and IPad.
I may try not plugging in the Itouch and IPad as some of you do
BTW was I'm loving the IPad and may get a second one soon.
