Another video - me playing "Tennessee Waltz" on the Tyros 5. Available in HD if you click the YouTube controls and go full-screen. Not sure if I should post these somewhere else vs. topics in the main Arranger forum??

Nice work Jim...why the extra KB? why not just use OTS?

I've just gotten used to using the 2nd keyboard for years … for some songs, being able to get an additional sound "instantly" is handy. Other than that, it's just a preference; being an organ player from way back! :-)

I would assume using the OTS would give you instantly many more sounds on the fly while playing. less to set up also.

do you sing also would love to see it if so now that you have the video ting down pat....

good luck.

That was real nice, Jim. What's that little keyboard placed on top of your T5?

Thanks for the comments ... to answer a couple of questions/topics that were brought up ...

I don't sing (or should I say, not by myself! :-) I do occasionally sing harmony with my band's singers, but I have never had the vocal "chops" to sing solo/alone. I have tried, but I'd need some serious help/lessons to make it sound decent! :-)

OTS vs. the extra keyboard - just a personal preference thing. I have used an extra keybaord like this for many years, and just like the 'instant-ness' of reaching up to it to play a different sound. Also, I do not save/create custom styles at all, so I don't do any OTS editing/saving at all. Yes, if I did set up and save styles with my own custom OTS settings, I'd get more choices; I just tend to do it the way I do it, which works for the most part (for me anyway). Good idea though (use of OTS for more sound choices); something I may delve into someday ...

Thanks again,
Jim

To answer another question some one asked - the extra keyboard is an M-audio 25-note keyboard that I "MIDI in" to the Tyros. No other setup required. I can't remember the model number, I can check tonigh ...
