This place has been too quiet lately, so I thought I'd give you all something to rail about ...
I couldn't fit both files in one post, so I had to split them ...
for the first - "IPANEMA" - I am trying to create a multi-track backing track to play and sing over ... for the backing track I will remove the Elec Piano and play that 'live' ... I will probably remove the sax solo as well and play that live ... (PS I realize there are errors in it - this is not the final product by any means) -
Comments? ... let them fly ...

It sounds really good to me. Nice job on the backing!

Music is fine Tony just a few wrong chords, & I know it's a rough cut..but honestly paisan, your vocals are a bit out of key & so is the timing on this take,...... please address this and I hope to hear the finished product soon....
I know you can do it MUCH better..

Donny ... Thank you for pointing that out ... I did not notice the pitch problems in the original recording ...
My concern about this is that there may be a more significant underlying problem ... I have had a punctured ear drum in my right ear since birth, but over time scar tissue has grown over the hole, compensating somewhat for the missing ear drum, and there has been only a small amount of hearing loss in that ear ... about 2 weeks ago I had a problem in that ear and the doc said that something - probably sinus pressure - blew out the scar tissue and now there is a big hole there ... I have an appointment tomorrow with an ear specialist, which will very likely result in some surgery to cover the hole ... Hopefully nothing has happened that will diminish my ability to detect proper pitch, or my 'career' may come to a sudden halt ...

Tony, if you have to stop playing and entertaining, you can always take some time off and sail to the Bahamas with me next year. wink

Tony, I noticed it too on Ipanema, but just attributed it to your having a bad day. I have HEARD you sing and you have a great voice with no pitch problems at all.
It could well have something to do with your ear problem. I'm sure you will find the solution if it is.

Don ... thank you ... I would love to be able to sing together again ... JULY 20 ?!?
Whatever it is, it is ... if it IS something that affects my ability to sing in the right pitch, I won't be happy, but at least it's not life threatening ...
