Great stuff, Donny! I particularly liked the more traditional approach of the first group (although they're both great ensembles).

Shameless plug alert! grin

Here is my first attempt at vintage New Orleans style jazz, done with Band In A Box and my EWIUSB.

Thanks a lot, Donny.

I'm quite pleased that you liked the tuba. It's one of my favourite sounds to play, and it has given me a new appreciation for bass lines and even (gasp!) bass players. grin

There will likely be more like this in the future, as I had an absolute blast recording this number. There were times when I was giggling like a school girl in between takes.

Thanks for listening,
Dan

Sax don't belong in Dixieland jazz. I cut my teeth on Clarinet, and that's the way it should be!

Dave in live music in the French Quarters it's not strange to see a tenor in a dixieland band. I worked on Bourbon Street at the Blue Angel and around the corner on Royal Street at the House Of Zin, and did some Dixieland with an exception trombone player and an Al Hirt copy cat trumpet player. The crowd liked it fine. Pete Fountain can't play with every band in the quarter's ha ha and in later years there were way more tenor players than clarinet players and I think that caused a transition. However like you I prefer the clarinet, there just aren't a bunch of them running around anymore.

I hear ya, Boo. It's the purity of the trio tones with Clarinet, Trumpet and Trombone - LOVE, love, love it.
