Yup .. and if you notice in the professional demo of the 900 vocal section, they skim over it with a few quick syllables so we can't make a good judgement on the tone. They clearly led us to believe that TC means great harmony, as it is in the 3x ... and then they put in a lesser unit to save money. I'm on my way to try out a different mic preamp before tonight's job. My search continues - I SO want to make this work because I love the way it plays, looks, feels and packs up. Worse case scenario is that I add the VLT2 to my rig, and sit it under the kb in that box I built.

Honestly, guys... what were you expecting for nearly $2000 less?

Pretty sure Korg are out there to make money. What are the odds of that if they make their mid-line almost identical to the TOTL?

This video inspired me to explore my mic and harmonizer settings further. There are a bunch of good presets in the PA3X

I tried the Joe Meek "ThreeQ" mic pre/EQ today, and it's wonderful. The problem is, I still need a dedicated harmonizer if I use this because the problem is in the circuitry that accesses the harmonizer - if you plug a mixer or something else directly into the dry inputs, the Korg handles the signal just great, but the entire mic section is simple sub standard ... and noisy. The ThreeQ was crystal clear ... UNTIL it got to the mic stage, then it was the same ole', same ole. The dedicated mic in on the 900 will do in certain very minimal showcase situations, like my job today, but for a real show ... I'm forced to use a VoiceLiveTouce2 into a small mixer.

This new scenario fixed all the routing woes I had, because I can play the guitar and mic thru the TC and the iPad feeds the iRig mixer that goes into the stereo "ins"on the Korg. It's more to carry, but it allows total flexibility for all my sound sources.
Now, I have to package them all up for transport-ease and I'll be a happy camper for the rest of the summer!
Whew ... what an intense tweak week this has been.

As soon as I get it all squared away, I'll post the improved versions of those same songs I did on the 900.
Thanx for all your input ... I'm determined to make this 900 work for me!
smile

I have a TC Helicon Voicelive Touch that I would be willing to part with. It's never been used. It sounds great but with as many jobs as I do, it's just one more thing to set up. If you're interested email me.
