Hi Frank,
that aught to make a few potential korg owners happy.

Terrible it's taken so long for them to hit the market.

Just got another 76 in.

Korg really hurt this keyboard with their awful launch.

I've read allot of bad press, but it sounds like people are just making excuses so they can stay with their PA800/PA2X.

I agree that there isn't a world of difference between the PA2 and PA3. But it's allot more that the Tyros 3 to the Tyros 4.

It has such a nice clean live sound, too bad Korg doesn't employ a few extra sound and style designers to really make this thing sing.

Frank,

Some time back there was a demo using some pretty neat styles suitable for the pop standards of the 40's - 50's. Everyone was asking where these styles came from and if they were now included on the PA3X. As far as I know there was never anything said about it in later posts and no definitive answer was given. I have tried to find that demo but have had no luck... Perhaps others here know of it.

Hi Frank,
ooh, I don't know about that,

for me, the addition of the extra 2 fills is great, plus we can have the option of automatic fills like a yammie, or hit one of the 4 fill buttons at any stage. Definately made the fills smoother having 4 instead of 2.

The other biggy is the upgrade to Guitar Mode 2. Being able to have a mix of normal midi notes & guitar mode notes on the same style track.
ie No longer having to set aside 1, 2 or 3 tracks (whatever,) just to be used for Guitar mode thruought the whole style, making those tracks useless for any other type of instrument.

One of my favourites, it now has XG Drumkits & wells a the GM kits & of course Korgs own kits. Converting some of my favourite PSR styles across has become so much easier, I no longer have to manually remap psr XG kits across to korg format.

I don't regret upgrading to PA3X for one minute.

Extra styles, we certainly would appreciate, but there are a number of new ones, but some of them have been updated , but still carry the old name. I started to do a comparison a while back, but got sidetracked. Have to try & find where I put my list.

Thanks Don, it really is good stuff. I am still waiting to hear from anyone who remembers the demo with the styles in question.
