Love the sounds in the PA3x, particulary the ones ported over from the retro keyboard. But I gotta tell ya the styles are ordinary, I can't believe they did all this good work, and didn't overhaul those styles. The guy plays well and I loved what he did, but notice the lead lines in those famous tunes he played with his right hand, other keyboards such as T4 and Ketron have those embedded in the style base. This would be the one area that stopped me buying the PA3X and loving my T4 and the Ketron even more. As a one man band, the least I do in the background style area the best. I know it's only my opinion, and others will say how good the PA3X is, but the styles, well, it's a pass only

Col,

Not certain what to say, was this an advert for someone’s expertise on camera and video editing prowess. Perhaps not an official video and another missed opportunity. There appears to be more and more of theses 25% of the video with the cardboard box obsession and little to do with the KB.I think the T4 is far ahead if I was Korg I would be looking my business strategy, where this is leading, this will be no record breaker, a few die hards will buy it.

Tony

Robbo, I'm not certain what you mean by "notice the lead lines in those famous tunes he played with his right hand, other keyboards such as T4 and Ketron have those embedded in the style base."

Why would you want lead lines embedded in the style? For a vocalist such as myself, that would be the last thing I'd want. There's nothing worse than singing a song and having the keyboard playing the melody note for note at the same time.

Hi 124,

I mean those distictive licks in tunes that make them synominous, ie as soon as you hear them you know what the song is. I'm just saying that there are better things to do with the right hand at times to enhance that mode.

thanks mate

Cheers, Robbo. That clears it up a bit for me. I have little to no experience with Yamaha (except for less than an hour messing about on a friend's T2 a good while ago). So, I'm not aware of how distinctive some of Yamaha's style tracks may be.

KORG TV Germany has always done the best demo's hands down, I don't know really although I am a die-hard KORG fan I can't see my self switching to a 3X yet, I just love my PA800 and don't really see that much of a big difference to switch at the moment other than the sample ram, I don't care about the other bells and whistles, I would lean more towards an AUDYA then anything else if I were to buy now.
