July 1st (tomorrow) is CANADA DAY.

Going to drop by a friend's place with my fantastic Yamaha Tyros4 and have us a nice little BBQ and sing-a-long.

In regards to your topic, where am I gigging on July 4th, I'm working two Yamaha Tyros4 clinics, so it's also a money making day for me too.

Ian

* 7:30 AM, playing at the start (and finish) of a 10K run in downtown (arranger).

* 10 to 2, in the operations room of the 4th event organizers...hospitality room (guitar- instrumentals).

* 3:30-upright on a float for a Jazz Arts group.

* 5:00 PM, at a country club-cook-out at the "19th hole" at a special golf event (Guitar-instrumentals).

* 9:00 PM, lounge at the same country club (trio-grandson-drums, son-upright-grandpa-guitar and Nord C-1).

* About 2:30 AM, Tuesday morning: voice over and vocal on ad campaign materials for a utility (electricity conservation). Love to do studio work late at night, with no interruptions. Almost all studio work done after midnight

It's all in the organization and having "youngsters" to move and set-up the equipment.

Notes: (First three jobs-same employer-same location-within several hundred feet. 2nd two-same employer-close proximity. Studio work-my scheduling. Time was available. Music beds recorded earlier in the week-tonight, in fact).

Off this weekend, double on the 4th. Taking some time off the rest of that week to visit with a friend who's coming into town for a few days.

Sunday Freebie at a family picnic where friends and family bring guitars, drums, tambourines, and live voices. It's a traditional blast

Have a double tomorrow, sailing on Saturday and Sunday, double on the 4th. Reading some of the posts above I realized Fran married a gal half his age. (The Devil made me say that,Fran.) wink

Have a great and safe holiday weekend everyone,

Going to Benton, AR to see Joe Lee Richards. Dean Mathis and I will play for the Benton City fireworks celebration. We will start at 6 and work til dark, outdoors in a covered pavilion.
We've done it the past few years and it's lots of fun. There will be several thousand people in the park.
We plan to use two Bose L1s. I will use the Roland BK-7m. Dean will play steel guitar, fiddle, piano and sing.
Joe will not be playing guitar with us this year as he is recovering from surgery and some other problems. He will surely sing a couple though.

I'm in Cuernavaca, Mexico so of course the 4th is not celebrated here. A dear friend of ours is having a birthday party on satudrday and she invited us to play. On Sunday we play a brunch at a private club/resort. Both events are outside. It's the rainy season down here. It has not stopped raining for the last 48 hours. Parts are starting to flood so I'm not sure if our weekend gigs will go through or not. I'm so glad we got our leaky roof fixed just in time!
