My E50's floppy disc died.
A new FD costs US$80,00 from my local Roland Assistance( Thatīs very expensive).
My question:
Can I buy a standart FD that costs US$8.00 , make the configuration for Roland and change the damaged FD?
If possible, what are the steps?
Tks

The E50 has USB and a Card slot... are you sure you actually NEED the floppy drive?

You can put Roland styles disks into a computer, then transfer the styles to the E50 via USB. Alternatively, if the computer and keyboard cannot get together, you can transfer the styles to a card, and put that in the E50.

I don't think I have EVER used my G70's floppy drive...

I'm trading my E50 , so I need a new FD to have the kbd perfect.
I discovered a mint Alpha 1 (Brasilian Roland) that has the enough features
(Scat voices and Brasilian styles) to play with my S900 as slave kbd.

Chico, how much would you sell the e50 minus a new FD?

If E50/60/80/G70 floppy drives work the same way as my G1000 did, here's a tip...

If you have a disk in it, they spin whether you need them or not (makes the seek time faster than if it has to spin up the disk). This can cause wear over the long term. If you don't need the FD (transfer to Internal or Card memory) take the floppy disk OUT of the drive...
