I think the Roland sounded a bit better.

I thought the T2 sounded better, however The I think the G70 was an octave lover, but i could be wrong. The T2 was a little richer sounding.

PurgatoryCreek.com.

No camera mic is going to give you an accurate enough sound for a decent evaluation, and there's always the fact of different tunes and players. P.Creek is head to head, the same song.

T2 is there, and the G70's main piano is the same as the FantomX 'Ultimate Grand' patch.

One of roland-arranger.com's members posted the P.Creek file run through the two main pianos (natural and classic) in the E80, for your evaluation. Have a listen... http://www.roland-arranger.com/smf/index.php?topic=458.msg2700#msg2700

I own both keyboards and comparing the piano on G70 with the piano on Tyros2 is not fair. Is like comparing a Ferrari with a Hyundai.

Whenever I need to use a piano sound when playing, I always choose the G70, because the sound is better. I can compare both keyboards side by side, not through low resolution videos and questionable sound recording.

However, if you only have a Tyros 2, you will not be embarassed by its piano sound: its just not so good as the G70 Grand X.

Piano sounds are a subjective and personal preference.

I played them both side by side through the same speaker system and I preferred the Tyros2 piano over the G70...it was more refined and cleaner sounding to me.

I also preferred the keyboard feel on the Tyros2.

In my humble opinion the only way one could do a fair comparison is to have the SAME player play the SAME songs on both Keyboards.

The player of course would have to be unbiased.

Both recordings sounded good!
