This might not be the correct area on the site for this but I want to ask a few questions about the yamaha motif ES 7.

Are the styles and arpeggiators in Midi or Wav?

is there a site where i can go to listen to some or to download them?

I am mainly after the dance/techno patterns.

Thanks
Nick

Nick,

There are no "styles" on the ES in the sense that an arranger has styles, but there are arps along with preprogrammed beats in it that are in midi format.

I would suggest the Motifator site http://www.motifator.com/ as a starting point for demos and much more for the ES series.

Nick,

I own a Motif ES6, but there are also reasons I wouldn't "give away" the midi patterns that are in it. It is intellectual property that I'm pretty certain isn't mine to give away freely, and I don't think the folks at Yamaha would approve.

A better route to follow might be to have a look at the Keyfax site at Motifator. Keyfax make add on grooves and patterns for the Motif and S series boards and their stuff appears to be reasonably priced.

There are also other outfits that make similar products. I'd suggest a web search. You may even be lucky enough to find some pretty cool patterns that are legitimately and freely available in the public domain.

When I want to add arps or patterns to my boards, I usually start by making them from scratch in FL Studio. FL is a software pattern sequencer that is in some ways similar to the arp and phrase factory ( pattern sequencer and data ) in the ES.

Regards,

AJ

I am aware of Fruity Loops. i have it aswell but mainly user Sonar for all my sequencing...

its just that, i was watching the demo of the motif es with bert Smorenburg, and he plays this dance/techno pattern towards the end of the demo. all i really want is that one pattern with the arpeggiator he adds in...

if you have it and can send it that would be GREAT but if u dont want to then ill understand.
