What are using now in your act at this time....& where are your projected targeted performance venues?

If your going to do what you describe .....sounds like a stop & go musicial act ala victor borga style....
if live syle playing is your bag which will giove you the best flexability.......any of the top arrangers will do the job & sound very good....its all about how YOU PERSONALLY NAVIGATE the keyboard thruout the show, how you set up your registrations etc, etc, ....this is a decision ONLY YOU CAN MAKE. Maybe if you post a few MP3 tunes or parts of your act we can better advise you.

Lucky2Bhere,

I find this topic so interesting, but at the same time I also find contradictions in what your are seeking.

Obviously, the G70 has many features that are attractive to you (what are they, can you list them for us?), but your not satisifed with the sounds.

You want something spontaneous, that sounds good, but you won't look at the Korg or Yamaha boards which have both of these features.

Your willing to look at a laptop/software setup rather than an arranger, but we all know those setup CAN be less adaptive than a dedicated keyboard.

Why don't you list your top 5 setup "wish list items" and your top 5 'pet peeves" so we can all help you decide?

Im glad you checked out Ketron products, saving the best for last .....
Now go play one LIVE hooked into "YOUR SOUND SYSTEM" at peformance volume and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the caliber of sound these units can produce........!!
good luck!

You may also want to have a look at the Gem Genesys pro S or the Gem Genesys xp.
Very easy to use
and it can play audio samples and files and midi files along with styles.
