Hello,

Welcome to the forum. Unfortuately, you will probably have to contact Roland's customer service center to get a CD.

Question: What should be on that CD-Rom that you need? I don't even recall getting a CD when I bought my EXR-5 :-)

Hi Burkels,

The CD has the software that allows communication between the EXR and computer. It allows you to use the USB port connection and transfer data (styles, etc) back and forth. The EXR3 doesn't have a floppy, so it's necessary to have the CD for that one anyway.

I have the EXR series in my store and I've never needed a CD to load into my windows XP computer. The computer just reads the EXR as if it is another hard drive in my computer. I transfer data all the time and I've never loaded anything from a CD into my computer.

Thanks for the edification. Interesting. Now I wonder what extra the CD offered after all?

Thanks to all I found the drives on one of the others post here. I have the windows 2000 on my laptop that is the reason, but I still need a copy of the CD or a .rar file with the CD files on ti. The reason is that I need the drivers to use it by the USB like it if was by MIDI and someone tell me that this drivers are on the CD ROM.

Thanks

In my other post about upgrading EXR3/5/7 to 3s/5s/7s I already posted the link to the MIDI/USB drivers: http://www.rolandus.com/support/downloads_updates/eula.aspx?ObjectId=885

(That's the EXR-40OR USB driver but it's universal for all EXR-models) You don't need the cd-rom anymore :-)
