Does anyone here think my voice sounds a little like Luther Vandross in this song, or the song sounds like something he'd sing? I don't think I sound like him.

This is a short clip of an adult contemp. piece I did a while back. I played it for a friend and he's been calling me "Lil Luther" ever since.

As far as I'm concerned I haven't heard anyone to date sound like the "King of making a woman sweat", Luther Vandross.

Anywho, it's an MP3 ie: reduced sound quality.

Regards,
Squeak

Hey if you're using Windows Media player, adjust the EQ using custom. WOW! The settings I adjusted sound really nice.

Anyway, people here have been wanting to hear the type of music I sing. This is it! That nice slow jam that makes a woman wanna...well you know the rest

I didn't think I sounded like him Maybe my friend is just nuts. Glad you guys liked it. Personally this is one of my favorites. It was easy to write, and the lyrics were well, just put yourself in the mood for some sweet love'n and BAM!

Song has potential....I hope there is a chorus somewhere along the way......as for your voice Im hearing a Michael McDonaldish vibe there I hope you progress with it....add some more sounds, balance, EQ, etc and Im sure you'll have a successfull project.

Song's been done for a long time. Kind of a personal one I wrote a WHILE back, that's how should I say pre-dates the wife. I think just the clip is all I'm willing to risk Get my drift???? The songs original intendent, and the wife--bad combo! It's like mixing bleach and ammon. The ending results in the loss of life

I'm sure you gents who have been married for a VERY LONG time know what I mean. I'm sure many of you have the ONE (ex) that you know NEVER to bring up, and if you do you can literally watch your wifes skin slide right off her scull in anger

Oh just to add here. This clip isn't the original. The original was done on a completely different keyboard. I scratched this out real fast on the Casio WK, and did a one shot take singing a verse. I just wanted some opinions on my voice. Never had someone say I sounded like Luther. Hell I'm comfortable with my singing voice, but I'm no Luther There is and always will be (one) "King" of Adult Contemp/R&B.

I have to agree with Donny about the Michael McDonald sound ... Not Luther, but good nonetheless....
The tune has possibilities though ...
