Let me know how you like the 5300. I just ordered a pair today thru Amazon for a bargain price $114. plus 22 bucks for shipping and handling. I figured what the heck if I'm not happy playing my PSR 3000 thru them, I'll use them for my home computer.

I sincerely believe you will love what you hear coming from this system.

I did a couple of different gigs this weekend using the z5300s. Man oh man, did I get compliments on the sound. Saturdays' gig was an outdoor barbecue for a college graduation. There were about 60 people in a good size backyard ( 120 ft by 40) The age group was a real mix of people. But it was the younger folks who couldn't believe the sound coming out of my PSR 3000 with the z5300s.

On Sunday I played a 55th anniversary of a church group mainly senior citizens and they too couldn't believe all that music was being generated from such a compact set up.

how do you set this up? do you have 2 speakers facing you. then 2 spekaers facing the audience? do you put them on stands? what about the center channel, is that used too?

You'll find detailed setup instructions at PSR Tutorial . There's really noting to puttin this together and the comments from my audienfes range from outstanding to "Where are your speakers?"

Lots of power from such a compact, inexpensive system. If you have trouble setting this up, email me and I'll be more than happy to provide what assistance I can.

Good Luck,

Gary

Yes, Gary has got the logitech system down to a science. I used exactly the setup he's detailed in the PSR tutorial, right down to using a duffle bag to transport the speakers. It all works great!

I bought from Frys the logitech Z5000e. I also bought the yamaha Tyros. I'm trying to see where do I plug in the logitech speakers.
It appears that the 5 satellites plug into the subwofer and three plugs from the subwofer go into the Tyros. The big questions is where to plug these three plugs????
I'm not good with audio configuration. May be someone will assist here.
Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

A cable with an 1/8-inch, stereo plug that splits to two, male, RCA plugs came with your system. Go to Radio Shack and pick up a pair of RCA female to 1/4-inch male phono adapters.

Plug the adapters into the RCA plugs, and plug them into your Tyros 1/4-inch output jacks.

Plug the 1/8-inch, stereo, male plug into the side of the remote receiver where you see the little mucical notation symbol.

On the back of the remote receiver there is a small toggle switch. Place that switch in the full upright position (6-channel direct)

Now, turn on the keyboard, then turn on the Z-5500. Turn the volume of all satellite speakers to maximum and set the subwoofer to aproximately 25 percent of maximum.

Set the effects to PRO LOGIC MUSIC II MUSIC. This activates all 5 satellite speakers and the sub woofer and provides the full, surround-sound effect that will give you the best results.

Turn the keyboard's master volume up to the halfway point. Now, using the master volume control, either on the wireless remote, or the receiver, adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

You'll be amazed at what you will hear, and so will your audiences. Keep in mind that when you crank up the master volume to maximum, there are boost levels that are well above maximum. Even with a relatively large audience of 125 people, I've never had to go above Boost 4 to provide all the volume necessary to entertain them and fill the dancefloor. If you go too high, and also crank up the keyboard's main volume as well, you could damage the satellite speakers.

A note of caution: Do not place the remote receiver on top of the subwoofer. The vibration of the sub can damage the receiver, and there have been a few users that had this problem.

Good Luck,

Gary
