Re-PSR3K. I have successfully bought a USB Flash Drive that works. Sandisk 256mb.

I have also bought a 4 X USB Splitter to enable multiple USB connection to the 3K, however 2 X USB's appears to be the maximum because I get a message when trying to connect a 3rd USB.
YOU HAVE REACHED THE USB CONNECTION LIMIT.

QUESTION. Does the PSR3000 only allow 2 X USB's to be connected at any one time ?

Graham,

The instruction manual does not stipulate the number of USBs that can be used similtaneaously, but when I plugged in a USB hub into mine I got the same message. Apparently, the keyboard has USB limits, but in reality, I would likely never be using more than one USB drive at a time. Glad to hear you have things working.

Cheers,

Gary

Gary. Thank you...Yes 2 USB's plugged in at a time is adequate, but I have 3 here including the floppy.
The reason I am asking is because I am sure someone stated they had used 4 USB's connected at the same time via a 4 X Splitter which I bought at the same time as the Sandisk Cruzer Mini USB Flash Drive 256mb.

I also have used the 4 port USB connector, however I never went over 2 flash drives at the same time. I wonder if the constraint is the number of ports or the number of megabytes.

I cannot seem to find out from anyone if a 1 gig usb drive will work. It won't work if the constraint is 512 mg, as indicated by the message after trying to use 3 drives.

Regards,

Jerry

I have had email contact with Steve Marsden Yamaha UK,and he suggest that a Powered USB 4X Splitter may be required by the 3K to obtain 4 USB connected at one time.

I would expect that the term "limit" should refer to the ability of the PSR to supply power via the USB connector, rather than a limit on the number of devices that can be attached. P195 of the 3k manual talks about using self-powered hubs.
