A surprise musical event. We have just returned from a 4 night break at one of the Warners Adults Only Hotels in the UK.
Whilst booking in I got talking to 4 people who were members of the George Formby Appreciation Society. For those not familiar with GF he played BanjoUke in his day and died in 1961. Our nice surprise came one lunch time when 8 members of the Society performed a 1 hour concert all of them playing BanjoUkes. Well they brought the house down, what a superb performance and they did it for free.

Little Ukulele In My Hand.
Leaning on the Lamppost.
The Bowler Hat My Granddad Left To Me.
Happy Go Lucky Me. etc: etc:

Anyone remember those days. Here is a link for those interested.

Graham,

Sounds as if you had lots of fun.

Sorry no pictures. I did have my digital camera, but unfortunately had left it in the bedroom which would have meant missing 15 minutes of the 1 hour concert to fetch it. I normally take my camera everywhere with me....sods law as they say.
