Hi all!
Ok this is the situation. I have a gig on thursday morning. Actually its a school competition and Im playing for one of the schools. Its actually a dance routine wherein the kids dance to different pieces of music which I have recorded on my PSR 740. The problem here is that they want the songs to be played with very little lag between songs. How can that be done? Also..the songs are recorded randomly..I mean some of them are made with self composed rhythm while some are with the inbuilt styles. How can I make the songs play so that they play in order without much time gap between songs. Can I use registration memory? I hope yu understand what I explained...!
Thanx
Sunny

Smf Play I would chain them together into one song...{GN Midi } http://www.gnmidi.com/
program can do that easily

OK so if I understand you right, I should open the files in GNMIDI and then so called "Chain" them so they play continuously in the keyboard..right?? Sorry but im a serious beginner.
Thanx

YES... IF YOU WANT TO DO THEM CONTINUOUSLY via smf...
but be ready to play along with them just as fast as they are played out of the KB SEQUENCER ....CHAIN THEM INTO ONE SMF SONG program...

when i used to play live, i had all my user registrations grouped in the order we used to play them. We played blocks of songs, and thats how i grouped my reg's.
If you do that, swithcing to the next song is just a matter of selecting the next reg. , even did it with a footpedal at one point

Sunny,
WHy not record the songs in order on a floppy with numeric prefix's like:
1songbird
2greenonions
3etc....

Then use chain play to have them run on and on and on and on.......

Sunny...
Uncle Dave's solution is probably the easiest. If you already have the songs on a disk, just rename them with the prefixes. That is the ultimate use of the KISS system.

As always I have to throw my 2 cents into the hat.

I don't recommend chaining songs. I don't know how many gigs I play whereby I have my patches/registrations setup in sequence and all of a sudden someone calls an audible and we change the set or the Guitarist breaks a string and we have to skip a song. If your playing with kids, you know what they say -- expect the unexpected.

I have both options. I chained the songs in GNMIDI and have stored them in sequence on floppy as well. Better to be safe.
Thanx all for ur help and concrn.
