After some editing and layering, I've come up with some pretty good accordion voices, but doing a polka that makes ME want to get up and dance has been a challange. When I thought I finally "got there" I heard a good polka band and knew I hadn't! (gotten there).

So I tried to analyzed exactly what the accordionist was doing and realized there was a lot of volume dynamics going on. To the best of my hearing, there was no timbre variation, only volume dynamics... from the pushing and pulling of the bellows.

So.... back to my SD1 and utilize velocity and even a right only volume pedal. Better, but no cigar.

Anyone think they're doing a great job on polkas and have any suggestions?

I love a good polka! I have always liked Walter Ostanek's style.........such precision and his band compliments his accordian playing so well!
