Yesterday I brought home a pair of 10G2s, with the anticipation of hearing some great mids and highs, with subpar bottoms. Boy, was I surprised, almost the opposite was true. Not really, but the bottom end was downright good... unusally good for 10s! But what disappointed me was the lack of crispness on the high end. Good presence, tight bass, but almost a "tubby" sound with absolutley no sizzle.

I know, we've all been told to listen first, but I wanted to hear them with my mic, my KB, and my midis. No loss cause thet're from GC and on the way back.

BTW, just my opinion and I'm sure to some ears they're great. I just need to have a high end crispness.

I agree - the horn in the JBL is only so-so.

Coincidentally, I brought home one of the old Powered 10 Eons today. Haven't had time to listen to it yet. It's used and they want $200.
I'll check it out tomorrow. Thought it might be good for monitor.

Don, for $200 you should be very pleased! It can also come in handy to fill in a dead spot.

Hello

Each to his own I guess. I LOVE my G210 Eons. My PSR2000 sounds great at all levels. And yes the bass is suprizing.

Glenn: I think it depends what kind of equipment you used through it. Like what kind of kb? Did you use any kind of mixer? You MAY have different ears than me, BUT, I think you should try them again mixed differently.

I'm also very happy with my eon G2 (only own and need one). I'm getting great responses from my audiences.

The vinyl bag that you can get as an accessory is also fantastic. You don't even have to remove the speaker from the bag at a gig (unless you are putting it on a pole). I usually just put the speaker on a chair or table behind me and unzip the bag and take the 1/4" and A/C out. At the end of the gig, I just shove the 1/4" and A/C back in and zip up the bag. This saves a lot of transport time for me. I play at nursing and retirement homes, and this is a very efficient method.

I have a pair of the Eon15 G2, also, I am very happy with them so far. My PA80 sounds great with them.

I'll chime in also: I've used a pair of the powered EON G2 10's for over a year and they work great for me - I'm always getting compliments on my sound. I often use a Yamaha 9000 Pro which has eq settings that allowed me to give it more 'crisp" high end, just so I wouldn't need an external mixer. When using my other keyboards I have a Behringer enhancer in my rack that brightens the EON's up. And the EON10 carry bags are a must-have option - not only do they save the speakers from scuffs but they make them much easier to tote.
