Well I got a price of $425 per speaker on the EV SxA 100 and that includes the shipping. I may order tomorrow Tuesday. After the experience with the two Samsons I tried last week I don't think I can go wrong.

400 people??? what kind of setting DNJ? Were you playing CD's or singing and playing on your own...I have a small Christmas party (100 people) next week in a small banquet hall and am just bringing the Ev's with no sub. (I'll be performing with the P-80 and PSR-2000, then DJing later). I have a 600-700 people Corporate Party in early January. It's a Larger banquet hall, so my guess is another EV(3) and my Mackie Sub. Ya think that will do? I mean, the dance floor is what needs to be covered, not the entire hall.....Which leads to my next question, what are your thoughts on sound coverage..In a banquet hall setting, one could argue that 2 speakers and a sub would be sufficient regardless of the other factors, because all that really matters is the dance area right? people in their seats don't want to be blown away by the music when they're conversing...as long as they can hear announcements or speakers during presentations etc, as long as the dance floor rocks, that is key...any thoughts?

hey Boo.....Go for it...you'll love em...You won't regret it...Brian

Boo, you made a good decision. SXA100 is awesome. I used two last Saturday in a wedding gig, plus two peavey 18" subs. They sounded better thatn what I was originally using, a JBL horn (2" coil) and a yamaha 15" mid. Amazing! We used to tri-amp all three speakers (per side) and carry all those heavy speakers...but not anymore. I will only be using the SXA100's and the subs. I can even eliminate one power amp to make my rack lighter. BTW, $429 including shipping is a good deal. Are you getting it from music123?

Congrats. You'll be enjoying the EV's!
Phil

It was an older Wedding situation. I was playing live KB PSR9k most of the night with some Mp3's thrown in for the kids stuff. As always never overpower the crowd beyond the dancefloor area. There is nothing worse then sitting with friends and no one can hear themselvs talking at the tables. Subs are not needed most of the time. And who wants to carry them anyway?

Phil,

8th Streeth Music made me the best price. I did contact Music 123 because of the bad experience with the Samsons last week. I'm waiting today Tuesday to see if they will match the price. If not it's 8th Streeth Music

Here is the discount price quote you requested:

10253 Electro-Voice SxA100.......$489.00

I like the speakers so much that I want two more for floor monitors. How did you get the $429 with free shipping?

Thanks.
Phil
