As u all know I'm a huge fan of Roland keyboards but defintely not the E500. I've owned mine for 3 years now and sold it yesterday. Actually its just 3 things that make this keyboard terrible.

1.The sounds are terrible...all the instruments sound bad...and its so hard to
vary between 2 instruments in the "Expanded Tones" section when u playing live. Even the E86 sounds better.

2. Its soooo weird that this keyboard and the
E300/E600 can only accept MSA style disks...even the E86 accepts the usual MSD..

3.I dont like the onboard styles...E86 styles sound nicer...

In conclusion...i should have bought an E86....but thats kinda old too so maybe a G1000 or VA7

I would really like to hear from E300 AND E500 owners regarding the sounds on this board..

I do like the Oboo/flute and pianos and the Oriental sounds that comes with in my E-500OR. interference are bad and I agree. the fact that it doesn't read other types of styles is awful too but I don't really mind that cause I made lot's of styles for it.

I have an E86 that you can get pretty cheap. It's in great shape - it was traded when I sold the XD9.
