Hello everybody!!!!!

My SCSI Iomega Zip drive broke two days ago and I donīt want to buy new SCSI Zip drive because my new computer has only USB and FireWire and not SCSI. So I was just thinking that is there any way I can connect a USB Zip drive to my PSR9000?

Micco,
In answer to your question regarding connection of a USB Zip Drive, the USB interface card for the 9000/Pro does not give you the same type of interface the SCSI port does. The USB interface only gives your PC access to your 9000's internal HD. Where as your SCSI interface gives your 9000 access to a remote drive.
In the future, maybe Yamaha could create an OS Upgrade that would allow the 9000 to remote access a drive via the USB port.
Hope this helps,

Regards,

I don't think that the product Jedi refers to will be of any help to you, as the PSR is not the device being controlled but rather the "computer" which controls the device. So your output will have to be SCSI.
Now if you can find an adapter that goes from SCSI to USB, you may have solved your problem.

Dennis

Micco,
The USB Interface Card that RGTAA has given you a link to, is a very useful item. When I'm not out gig'n my 9000 is connected to my computer via the USB port. It makes the 9000's hard drive completely accessible from your computer. I (and others)have posted some comments on the forum about this product in the past. I believe that most everyone that owns a 9000 would beneift from this product.(YOU MUST HAVE A HARD DRIVE)
Check it out. If you have any questions from a user stand point, I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability.

Hey jedi,

Just to let you know, I got a Mac also. The rest of the guys have no idea how good we got it. My Mac has fallen in love with my KN65. I told old Mac, just wait till this fall. I'll get you KN7 and just wait till it kisses you with it's usb. Heaven in a wire, replied old Mac. I know she will like my new elegant OS.

Hi Doug,
I was wondering, what "Midi-interface" your using and software. Scott Yee recomended "Digital Performer" for my Mac, have not tried it yet, looks good but pricey I have a "Y2K" and an "iMac (G3) for now have to see what happens next month . I tried using a USB Yamaha midi interface and I got so many conflics that I removed it and returned the cable (it was one of those all-in-one things) and I was just trying some demos
but they all messed up my computer so bad I just gave up O-BTW -OS is 9.1 . Any thoughts would be helpful
thanks. It sounds like that KN7000 is going to be quite the KB, best of luck
