I'm serious!

Half the songs at my website were done totally through this recorder. Now you can record complete songs, laying down a backing track first through your arranger keyboard, then singing over it on the remaining three tracks (which are perfect for adding vocal harmonies, instrument solos, licks and riffs, etc.) to create flawless recordings. Ideal for making your own CD masters without the added cost of expensive studio time, this recorder is intuitively simple to operate, unlike the steeper learning curve of digitals. Uses cassette tapes, also unlike the expensive media (Zip, Mini, HD, etc.) required by digitals. The sound quality of this unit is excellent.

Due to more sophisticated needs I recently bought a new Boss BR-8 digital recorder and don't use the Fostex any longer. This Fostex X-15 Multitracker was the top of the line home recorder at the time ($550). Plus I am including the optional $65 AC adapter (the X-15 was also designed to run on common "D" batteries for truly portable "in-the-field" recording and they all came equipped that way, with battery pack attachment only).
