I am trying to reduce or remove the Hi Hat sound in the inbuilt rhythm 60s & 70's - Organ Rock. I know I must copy this to the Composer Memory A,B or C to be able to edit the rhythm, but I can't see how to remove or lower the velocity of just the Hi Hat without re-recording the complete drum track.

Any words of wisdom much appreciated.

Thanks

Glen

Copy to composer, edit what you want, and save as new rythm/style.
No brand beat Technics when it comes to userfriendly way to do things

It's been a while since I've been into it, but you have to go to
drumtrack and do things in step mode.
Remove the entries you don't want to be there step by step.

Hi Gunnar

The reason I posted this message is, for some reason I didn't think Composer Edit had a Step Input. I have just rechecked and your right it has.

The moral here is recheck before you ask stupid questions.

Thanks again

Glen

On the other hand, if you had not asked, I and others might not have known it,either.

Hello Glen,

I don't know exactly what you are trying to do but if I wanted to stop a noisy instrument or drum sound, I would go to and press the 'OtherParts/Tr' button (to the left of the screen just above the Help button). There are four pages here, the first page shows the immediate controls and the other three pages show the other parts used in the style/pattern. These can be adjusted to your needs and all I would do is 'MUTE' the drum or lower it's volume.
When I am satisfied I then save to a panel memory or an SD Card for future use.

Hope this helps - Audrey

Hi Audrey

If you listen to the Organ Rock rhythm of 60s & 70s Variation 1, there is a ride cymbal sound throughout the rhythm which didn't suit the song I wanted it for. I wanted the rhythm exactly at it is but without that ride cymbal. Having just discovered that Composer Edit has a Step Editor I have now managed to remove the Ride Cymbal and re-save it.

Thanks for your help, its much appreciated

Glen

Glad you got it sorted Glen. I know how irritating it can be when a sound/rhythm doesn't quite fit the song you're trying to do, but that is the fascination of Technics instruments, there is usually a way to make these changes, it's just knowing where to look. The manual doesn't always explain clearly, hence the popularity of this Forum.

Happy playing - Audrey

Glen, the step editors are a great tool to learn how to use. Not only can you delete the sound you don't want, you can change it to whatever you desire, make it louder or softer, longer duration, or shorter. You are the Lord of the Manor when you go into editor mode. Just a word of advice....save your work to disk periodically when doing involved work. If you decide you don't like what you just did, you can load the last saved piece and start over, and in case of total loss, you'll always have that backup.
