It looks like Microsoft has done it again with some bad Updates.

I also heard the Outlook Express Update is causing some issues too.

What is wrong with the updates? I'm on auto an was just updated this morning and had no problem, except I had to change to Outlook Express through Options. Default is Office Express. Have to do this everytime. Dick
Forgot: I'm using Windows XP Home with SP2

Hi Anthony,
thanks for this 'golden' tip. After updating I had the symptoms, as mentioned in the MS-letter. (no access in folders, IE didn't work etc.) My puter freezes each time. I struggled sometime arround (forgive me my very negative thoughts in this holy days )and finally I give it up and closed my computer . Worked on my other puter. Luckily I read your post. I just followed the resolution as described, and all worked well again. I was afraid to reďnstall Windows again, now I only had to enter a lot of figures/digits, brrrr.
Thanks,
Cees

My computer was also updated automatically a couple of days ago and there have been no problems.
