Traffic being so slow on this forum at this time, I might ask a question I have sought
for a long time. Remember I am the oldest member (84) so please be gentle. Drum kits, so many, are you players changeing them often, like for different types of music,or when you find one you like, do you use that kit most of the time. I really don't understand why so many are needed. Do you
select by just listening to all of them? It
might be simple for you, but to an old man
that never had one music lesson, it't a fair sized mountain. Thanks to all. ARJ

Hello Arthur
Drum kits are like any other instrument in that they come from different manufactures and in different styles, (e.g.: Pianos from different manufactures sound totally different, and the player chooses the one that suits his playing style and type of music)
Drummers choose likewise by selecting the parts of the kit to suit what they do.
In the end though, it is all down to personal choice, so the best way is, when you play a song, try different drum kits until one sounds right, and then use it for that song.
Hope this helps.

Bill

try this drum primer....
save anything you want and initialise the 7k.
select 16bt standard in the first rhythm group.
press and hold one touch play.
press menu, composer, pattern copy, then OK in the screen.
press exit.
press composer A on left of screen.
press OK in the screen.
press DR1 at the bottom, the pattern should start to play.
press Drum Kits in the Sound Group, it should be live standard kit.
change to standard kit 1 on the right and listen to the difference.
try standard kit 2 underneath.
try pop kit on page 2.
then analogue kit 2.
then try soul kit on page 3.
etc etc
just by changing one set of drums.
