Hi Everyone,
I received an email via friend the other day, I was wondering if anyone would have an idea what could be causing this problem.

I got him to check his modulation wheel setting, his tuning, and his scaling, but they weren't the cause.

best wishes

Hi Rikki
I had exactly that problem on my old KN920 - and the reason was that I had knocked/dropped the keyboard whilst playing out somewhere and it had loosened the modulation wheel fixing in its cradle - if your friend wiggles the modulation wheel from side to side it temporarily corrects the half tone drop - the long term solution is to get it properly fixed, of course.
Cheers

I had this problem with a KN2000 and found the only solution was to set foot switch #2 to Variation - anything but glide. Try this and see if it works.

Thanks Guys,
I'll forward these suggestions on to him and hopefully one of them will help solve his problem.

Rikki. It was the footswitch! - I set #2 to a value other than 'glide' as
suggested and the problem has disappeared. Presumably there is a patch
from Technics to correct this bug - do you have any idea how to obtain and
apply software upgrades?

Thank you so much for your kindness - it's good to know that in today's
world there are still people who are prepared to go out of their way to help
others.

It's very much appreciated

Kind regards
Bob
