I thought I would relate my experience in putting these boards together.

I Midi'd the two together with a simple connection of Midi out of the KN to the Midi in of the Korg with two simple settings.

I have the KN controlling styles of KMA, which are excellent, with the left hand .

All local is on, allowing me to play and KN registrations and KMA rythm and solo. If you want, turn off the "sync" of the KMA and use KN styles.

I have taken it to two gigs and people love it. The KMA belies it's size and appearance. It is great for small and medium venues.

The best part is the KMA is $499 and weighs about 8LBS.

Bernie,
What a great idea; the best of both worlds. The little KMA completes the Kn7000 bringing it up to date. Great big band and now great rock.
John C.

Roger gives this some thought.

John

Not only rock but many others as well, including country and Latin.

I have noticed a definite live quality not found in the KN. This is not to say the styles are not good, because they are. People have come up to me and commented on it. One man came up to me that has been coming weekly for seven years, and said "Don't ever sell that little keyboard because it has the best sound I have ever heard here".

I have had my Audya there many times and they like it, but, it is a little too in your face for a small room(30x40).

It definitely is a winner

I bought one of these little beasts about 4 weeks ago. It certainly has some good styles and sounds, but I find the Operating System a little unfriendly, when compared with the Technics system. I have spent quite some time experimenting with it so it's not just a case of 'getting used to a new OS'......

However, at £499 it is certainly very good value, even though it's more expensive than in USA......

I've got one too. There is a crispness to the voicing that I like. I have mine connected via midi to my Roland Combo organ. One thing I have been unable to do is to trigger the KMA Ensemble (technichord) function with single notes from the midi controller. Solo and style voicing is excellent.

I'm going to the Keyboard and Organ festival here in Pakefield Suffolk in a couple of week's time so I'll have a look/listen on the korg stand...

In my opinion, there never has been, nor will be an OS as good as the KN7000.

I'll second that Bernie.

I expect you've all heard/read the 'hype' about the 'special edition' of the Tyros 4. O.K. so it's black but apart from that, there is very little difference in the actual keyboard certainly nothing to tempt me to change the T4.

Now! if Yamaha ever announces it has changed the O.S. to that of the KN7000, I would trade in my T4 for the new keyboard tomorrow....... ah! we can but dream.

Bernie

Do you know if it's that simple to switch back to your main keyboard on other brands such as Yamaha?
