I have recently bought a KN2600 and would be interested to hear from anyone who has got one. I have still got my KN7000 which I do not intend parting with under any circumstances, the reason I got the Kn2600 is that it is much lighter to carry on gigs, and it has pretty much the same setups as the KN7000. I would be interested to learn what other owners think of it.

Hi Derek,

What is the difference between a 2600 and a 2400? I often see both listed on eBay and wonder if a seller has made a mistake. If there was a 2400, how does it differ from the 2600?

Hi Mark
Both the KN2600 and KN2400 were brought out after the KN7000 as support lightweight machines which worked with the KN7000.
The KN2600 similarly has a slot for an SD Card but no floppy disk slot, whereas the KN2400 has a floppy disk slot but no SD Card slot.
They both had some new styles on board as well.

Thanks, Rog. I find it overwhelming all the models the company made over the years. So many that I wasn't aware of until I see them pop up once in awhile on eBay.

Hi Mark, As Roger explained the main difference is the KN2600 has a sd card facility for storing set ups etc but no floppy drive, whereas the KN2400 has a floppy drive but no sd card slot. Both have similar sounds and styles and
any registrations that were made on the KN7000, will work on the KN2400-2600, but not the other way round. Derek

ROGER & DEREK....

Are you saying that the 2600 & 2400 will not accept SD's and or Floppies made on the 7K although the 7K will accept SD's/floppies made on either of them?

How much do they weigh and are they as big as the 7K? Do they have identical programing plus additional stuff? Does anyone have pictures of each of them or know where I might find pictures?

What about the value of those two KB's???

Elizabeth wants to know.....

Just the opposite. The 2600 can read 7000 files but the 7000 can not read 2600 files.

Think I answered most of your other questions in my last email. You can see the owners manual at:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=kn2600&start=20&sa=N

That link is not perfect. Click on the third or fourth item down that contains a pdf file.

It's not really quite that simple. There are many things missing in the 2400/2600 that are in the 7000. No custom memory. Only one foot switch insted of six. Polyphony is 64 for the 2600 vice 128 for the 7000. Fewer voices. Many other differences but those come immediately to mind right now.
