For all of you in the UK or even abroad, wasnt sure how well he is known over there but I met Brett Wales last night - a great musician and he played some lovely tunes on the Wersi Scala

The concert was about 3 hours but he played 1492, Living Doll, Dancing Queen plus loads more

I managed to meet him at the end of the concert and got a couple of pictures

A really great musician - he was a bit excited as he has just become a father again and both mother and child are doing well - he said she was 9lbs though he said he was so excited on day of the birth he sent 35 texts in one go to friends/colleagues giving them the news and he put 19lbs by accident and he got 35 texts all in one go back saying huh?

His website is here

You can order CDs and things in the post if you're in the UK though if you want to order any abroad I suggest you email for more info

Regards

Andrew,

Thanks for the input. I have great interest in Wersi Instruments since the demise of Technics. They may be the leader in technology.

Heard from a member of the OBI (Organ Buddies International) on the up-grading of the operating system of his Wersi Organ. Very interesting and probabably what's to come.

Andrew,
You are so right about Bret Wales. He is an amazing performer. I had the pleasure of hearing him at the Home Organ Festival in Pacific Grove, California a few year back when the festival was still going strong. It looks as if he has gained a few pounds. Married life must be agreeing with him.

Hi Andy

I too have met Brett and he his a charming youg man and a great organist. I met him at the Bridlington Spa Theatre were he was performing at one of their organ concerts that are held on a Sunday afternoon every three weeks. He is only in his mid twenties and a wonderful musician taught by his grandad in the early years and later studied with Klaus Wunderlich in Germany.I have three of his CD's and his music covers a wide spectrum From Glenn Miller to the Beatles and many more. One of my favourite three players(the other two being John North and Bill Norrie)

I too have met Brett Wales a number of times. In fact I shall be emceeing a concert he will be giving for the Herts and Essex Electronic Organ Club on Wednesday 15th September at the St. Michaels Mead Community Centre. Bishops Stortford.

A bit too far for you transatlantic types but if any of you in South east England fancy a trip I can promise you a magnificent evening's entertainment. This guy is a one-off and the true successor to the late, lamented Mark Shakespeare..

Have fun!!!
Trevor
