without Techmanager load 'em up and save 'em out to floppy. Before the 7k I kept floppies of everything that went on to the SX6 before and even after the Techmanager backups. This information was periodically burnt to 2 identical cds and kept at different locations. Failsafe.

technicsplayer ...
I have about 400 song files (SMF, technics) on the HD ... any idea how long the load to floppy would take? ..
If I were to use techmanager, wouldn't I be able to take the PC files and burn them to cd? ....

well, time how long it takes to load a song and save out to blank floppy, and multiply by 400?
since the 6k can easily accommodate 20 Technics files to a floppy, that's 20 floppies, but if you save the midis as Standard Midi File you can get maybe 30 or 40 to a floppy so that cuts down the floppies needed somewhat, depends if you've converted any midis to NX in which case save Technics sequencer files instead.

Tony
Don't forget to add on the times you stop for a cup of tea/coffee; and also those moments when through repetition the brain stops functioning correctly...know what I mean...
Good luck

Tony, the name of the game is Dedication, I copied 20,000 files from my HD6 to floppy, then to PC Hard Drive and then burned to CD, how long did it take? no idea, it was a labour of love, but it has sure payed off.
