It didn't take me long to encounter my first issue with KN7000. I have several 3.5 floppy disks from my years using KN1000 and 2000. They are on both DD DS and HD disks They are complete arrangements, including composer, panel memory, sounds and sequencer that I did a lot of "creating". I have read and re-read the ouwner's manual, tried the style convert disk. Some will load and show contents (song titles) in the display window, but not load. What am I doing wrong? I was assured that disks from previous models would load. Some old commercial style disks I had, load with no trouble, even some back to the 1000.

Hello

I used to own a KN1000 and one thing I can tell you about that one is that even though it was midi, it was before general midi, which means unless they are converted you can't use them

EMC has a program I think that will covert those for you.

Hi Santa,
I think your kn1000 composer styles have to be converted first with the style conversion disk before they'll load. As for panel memory, sequencer & sounds , I can't comment.

As for the kn2000 styles they should load ( there are updated versions of these styles on the http://www.technicskn7000.com/home.asp but they are in custom format not in composer format.
I don't really do sequencing of songs, so again I can't really comment .

If you still have access to the kn1000/2000 the only true reproduction to the original would be as an audio file ( mp3). The mp3 can then be played in the kn7.

The kn7 has far better sounds etc than the kn1000/2000 did,so with tweaking your arrangements should end up sounding better in the long run.

Sorry , I can't be much help

best wishes
Rikki
