Whilst sorting through my large collection of Floppies, prior to archiving onto CD, I came across one disc which has some really good sequences on it (TV Themes). However, they were recorded on a KN1000 and of course, are not recognised by my KN6000 and probably won't be recognised by KN7000 either.
Can anybody convert these files so that I could play them on KN6000 ? I realise that some further work will probably have to be done, to play them acceptably.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Is'nt it possible by use of the convertdisk
enclosed your KN6000?
I thought it would, but some tweaking might
have to be done to make it sound right.
If you don't manage to convert it, I might try
to help you by use of EMC, but still you have
to tweak a bit by yourself.

Hi Gunnar, I tried the Style convert route but it will not work on these files. There are more than just styles, there are sequences as well. I'll email the disc to you and thank you for offering to try to convert.

if you are talking about a retail disk, and it is the one I think you mean, I already have converted it to 6000 format. which disk do you mean?

Great stuff Gunnar, everything seem to be OK with the exception of a small gap toward the end of the 'DIS--1' sequence, but it doesn't really matter. I loaded them into my KN6000 and then resaved them back to floppy. The compression used in the KN6000 filing sytem, certainly seems to be very efficient. The 10 files which you converted took up 1.76 Mb whereas after conversion by the KN6000 filing system, the volume was reduced to 226 Kb. I suppose that such a difference may also have been partially due to the KN1000 to KN5000 conversion process.
